Trainee Solicitors

Hatten Wyatt is currently recruiting for 2 trainee solicitors to join our training programme to commence in September 2023 and 2 more to commence in 2024. As a firm, we are fully dedicated to providing our trainee solicitors with a comprehensive and diverse foothold into the legal world. We provide high quality training across a range of specialist areas whilst developing your skills both personally and professionally.

What to expect

Trainee solicitors will usually spend six months in each seat in a variety of contentious and non-contentious areas, you will be able to discuss your preferred choice although we like you to keep your options open as many trainees change their minds after experiencing something new.

You’ll be working on ‘live files’ from the beginning and have direct contact with clients and other professionals. You won’t be ‘spoon fed’ but we will give you all the support that you need to be successful. The majority of your training will be ‘on the job’ with your supervisor guiding you.

Our trainees will gain a wide range of experience and develop their knowledge and skills, laying the foundation for a successful future career in law. Our trainee solicitors are also encouraged to get fully involved with all aspects of the Firm’s networking, professional and social responsibilities, and help advertise the Firm’s commitment to providing a high quality service to all clients.

Candidate attributes

We look for individuals who have the enthusiasm, drive and ambition to be our future lawyers and partners. You will also need great personal skills, as well as creativity and a sense of fun.

Potential candidates must be technically competent, and academically strong with a minimum of a 2:1 degree or on track from a 2:1 degree. Applicants must have completed their LPC by September 2023 although not necessarily when applying for the contract. Applicants interested in the 2024 intake will have funding available for the LPC. Team working skills and attention to detail are essential. Candidates must hold a current clean driving license as you will be required to work between offices.
