APIL

In 1990 a group of Solicitors and Barristers acting on behalf of Claimants who had suffered personal injury banded together to form THE ASSOCIATION OF PERSONAL INJURY LAWYERS (APIL) in order to ensure that the rights of those injured were represented fairly and that they were not denied access to justice in obtaining compensation for their injuries. APIL represents its members and the Association's aims and objectives at a political level to ensure that Claimants needs and views are known to Parliament in any proposed changes in legislation.

APIL's objectives are

  • To promote full and just compensation for all types of personal injuries
  • To promote and develop expertise in the practice of personal injury law
  • To promote wider redress for personal injury in the legal system
  • To campaign for improvements in personal injury law
  • To promote safety and alert the public to hazards wherever they arise
  • To provide a communication network for members
